Greetings from Queenstown on the South Island of New Zealand!

I am staying at a VERY, VERY, VERY small hotel called Eichardt's - which is THE finest hotel in the town. There are just 5 rooms in the main hotel ... and I am ... erm ... in a very nice one! More on the hotel and Queenstown tomorrow.

So - we have left the North Island ... it was a great show and we made friends at Mollies which is THE most eclectic & luxurious hotel in Auckland and friends at The Farm at Cape Kidnappers which is simply fabulous.

The flight from Auckland to Queenstown was unexpected. The final 10 or so kms into Queenstown are so picturesque. You have the snow-capped mountains to both sides and lakes below ... definitely one of the most beautiful approaches to an airport in the world.

The drive to the hotel was 10 minutes ... it's quite chilly here ... with the country going from Winter into Spring. I have been bitten by mosquitoes which has annoyed me no end.

No filming today - it all starts tomorrow!

Off to bed.
