Filming day in Hertelendy Castle.

It was built in the 1920's by Andor Hertelendy. After WW2 it has had many uses including as an apple farm. In 2004 it was bought by a Swiss family which spent Euros 20 million on a total refurbishment. It now has 14 rooms & suites in the main house and 6 in the Hunter's Lodge.

The estate is 350 hectares and has a golf driving range, swimming pool, heli-pad, grass runway, farm ... and lovely apple trees - everywhere! Hot water is pumped from a well 1000 metres below ground ... it arrives at 55 degrees and is cooled & filtrated ... and is pumped into the pool and all the rooms!

I am staying in the Honeymoon Suite ... hmmm ... !
There is an indoor Spa with treatment rooms etc ... and an outdoor Spa with a log-cabin sauna and a pond which is heated from the underground hot water system! It is ... erm ... warm ... -ish!
The Castle ... superb!
Morning smiles at the Steinway piano in the lobby ...
My bed ... the television is hidden in the furniture in front of the bed!

The hotel closes in the Winter as it get VERY cold! My suite has a unique ceramic tiled stove ... HOT!
Ligne St Barth products ... memories from another lifetime for me!
There's a world class stable and riding centre! I went for a trot with Liberty - a GORGEOUS mare!
WHY??!!
One of the staff - Kinga - gamely joined me in the pond! Ha! By the way, the pond is filled with frogs, fish and ... crocodiles!
Those boys!
James .. REALLY?!
Dinner - in the romantic setting of the lakeside pavilion ...
