"More New York than New York" ... now that's a phrase that has been used about Mumbai and you know, it may be correct!

"Official" bars stay open until at least 3 a.m. ... every luxury brand is represented here .... her people drive fast & luxurious cars ... they eat in fancy restaurants ... the high-end hotels are quite spectacular ... and there's a buzz ... an affluent buzz ... and it seems that everyone around the world wants a part of it!

The Four Seasons Mumbai is in Worli - the "new" financial district of Mumbai. It opened in 2008 and has become hugely popular since then. It's always full ...

First up, an interview with the highly knowledgeable and affable hotel manager - Rizwan Shaikh on the 33rd floor of the hotel - the club! There's a cigar room there ... ha ...

Then I met up with the adorable Valencia Alburquerque - the head concierge at the hotel. We drove 45 minutes to Colaba and Bombay Electric ... a boutique that showcases contemporary and quality Indian fashion and jewellery. It is a lovely place to shop. We spoke with Daisy Hambro who works there ... I did try to buy some VERY cool socks ... but they didn't have my size ... sad ...

Two blocks away is Bungalow 8 - a three floor boutique set in a 160 year old heritage mansion. Floor 1 & 2 has amazing housewares and the 3rd floor has clothing! It's all made in India ... ! Fabulous! I chose a cigar ashtray ... it will look great in my office at home! We were looked after by the very sweet Simone Nicole D'Cruz ...

All in all, a good day ...
