Day 8 - Margaret River/Perth - Western Australia

Greetings from Perth!

We are back here as we prepare to fly home tomorrow after a wee bit of filming in Kings Park in the morning.

The weather is terrific here again ... yes, autumn/winter is setting in slowly but there was a lovely warm breeze with bone-warming sunshine ... just like the weather I left in England ... which is now awful ... snowy and cold! Grrr ...

OK - so up with a hop & a jump and we finished off what we started yesterday with Sean from Margaret River Discovery ... by canoeing down/up the Margaret River. The water was clear ... clean ... and as flat as a pancake ...

Then I headed to the restaurant at Cape Lodge ... for a cooking lesson with Executive Chef Tony Howell ... who is a "Masterchef" (the Australian version). We prepared a salmon cerviche ... guzzled down with a 3 Amigos chardonnay. Great dish, great wine ... FANTASTIC chef!

Sad farewell to Drew ... what a good man ... and then we embarked on a 3-hour drive to the city. Aussie drivers are ... erm ... quite selfish ... or maybe that is just in WA! Lots of lane-hogging and inconsiderate driving ... Tim was NOT impressed ...

Our last dinner tonight ... at the Greenhouse ... it looks lovely ... report tomorrow ...

On the Margaret River ...
Molly the Pooch says "hello"!
With Sean ... time for some canoeing!

THE Chef
Drew "Clooney" Berhardt ... (and less handsome side-kick)
I have ALWAYS wanted to be a Bunbury ...
