i'm a firestarter
It's been - professionally - the hardest month of my life ... I have been on the road now for 26 days ... have stayed in 8 different hotels/resorts ... visited LA, Hawaii, Mexico and Tahiti ... taken 15 flights ... lost 4 kgs of weight ... and met a countless number of wonderful people ... finally, IT IS OVER and tomorrow I am on my way home.
So - awake early and meet with the resort General Manager Rajiv Malhotra. He has been here a matter of days (from the Four Seasons Las Vegas). You can tell that he is going to LOVE it here ...
The signature dish for Tahiti and her Islands is "poisson cru" ... it's raw fish (red tuna) with fresh cruchy vegetables - carrot, spring onion, tomato - salt n' pepper - and coconut milk (water) ... all mixed together. It was VERY tasty ... and Pierre Maitre was a great instructor ...
From there - and the sun was now setting over Bora Bora - I met up with Didier Fimeyer - a fire dancer. Fire dancing is part of Polynesian culture ... it was a way of welcoming vistors from island to island. So, I had a lesson without fire ... and then - erm - played with fire. It was strangely ... incendiary ...
We have a "Lookback" show to film and a "Food & Wine" special ... all to be done in November ... just a couple days of filming though and it IS in the UK ...
