Another long day ... but I am back now in my suite ... the boys are frollicking in my pool ... they have worked extremely hard today and Tim did sweat a HUGE amount. Yes, it was hot & humid... but also at lunchtime, he tried the "mucho, mucho, extra, extra picante" sauce which well, made his face turn a dreadful shade of purple and then emit much heat from his brow. James laughed a lot.
Anyway, after breakfast, with Richard Zarkin from Riviera Nayarit, we headed to La Cruz (30 minutes drive) where we picked up the Four Seasons yacht and headed onto the Sea of Cortez. We saw an amazing selection of birds (pelicans, frigate birds), dolphins and shoals of fish. We visited Banderas Bay but moored just off the protected Marietas Islands where we snorkelled and ate lunch. Yum.
From there we drove (20 minutes drive) to Sayulita. This village has some of the best surfing in the area but I was there to visit the "Galeria Tanana". This was set up by Susana Valadez to promote the lives, art and plight of the indigenous Huichol people. They have been around since 5 BC and live up in the mountains. They have their own language, culture & religion and Susana is trying to protect them and raise awareness of them.
We also met with Cilau Valadez who creates some amazing art with yarn ... a true genius.
Home now - sleep and rest in the morning - with a wonderful afternoon planned.
