Day 12 - Thailand - Koh Samui

The wonderful thing about Culinary Travels is that I get to travel ... and receive cooking classes in interesting places ...

I do like cooking in hotel/restaurant kitchens but every now and then I get to escape and today we borrowed the Four Seasons cruiser and sailed on the Gulf of Thailand. With us was the resort's General Manager - Brent - and the Executive Chef - Alex from Spain ...

Alex taught me how to make a fabulous ceviche ... on the bow of the cruiser ... which was washed down with a lovely Spanish wine. We then all went for a swim in the tepid sea ... heaven ...

It is Saturday - the weekend - so I am now off to one of my two pools to relax, read, listen to music and drink a wee glass of fizzy wine ... hurrah for Saturdays in paradise.

Last day tomorrow ... "oh no", "oh dear" ... "it's a death-trap" - private joke ...
Photo taken on the beach that inspired Alex Garland's "The Beach" ... it's a secret, private beach ... and in the background ... the cruiser ...
The General Manager - Brent Martin - paddle-boards towards the boat ... who needs an Aston Martin?
With the Executive Chef Alex Gares ... on board Minor Affair
We made a sea bass cerviche ... with passion fruit - yum ...
Then jumped into the Gulf of Thailand
Jack attacks the water - while I try and pull him back ...
