OK - this time last week I was in the Bahamas ... Harbour Island to be precise. The weather was variable ... heavy rain ... stunning sunshine ... heavy rain ... stunning sunshine ... you get the idea ...

Anyway in the next few hours Hurricane Irene is set to hit the Bahamas.

Hotel guests have been either sent home or have been warned not to travel. The battens have been hatched down ... and the islanders are preparing for the worst ... and hoping for the best ...
