Day 114 - Dog Day Afternoon

original script - great movie

kermit or shrek?

a table of calories .... not very LA!

The good news is that even in LA, there are still endless re-runs of Friends ... it's not just in the UK.

It's been a fun day here in Beverly Hills and I am writing this while watching the excellent Uncle Buck ... with John Candy & Steve Martin.

Started filming after a hearty breakfast. Arlene - Raffles L'Ermitage PR - has seen it & done it all before with film-crews, 100's of times, (inc. American Idol) so she led us through the day efficiently and with a smile ...

The hotel has just 119 rooms - including 16 suites. It's located on Burton Way - a short walk to Rodeo Drive but in a leafy residential area of Beverly Hills. It was originally built as an apartment block but Raffles turned it into a luxury hotel and it was opened on 1st June 1998.

It's very LA but very low-key. It's full with celebs but I am not telling ... or actually, I am not allowed to tell!

There are 8 floors with Jaan - the restaurant on the ground floor - along with The Living Room (lounge) and the Writers Bar where they have original major movie scripts on the wall. The Godfather, Jaws, Glory ... to name but a few ...

On the 8th floor there's a gym and on the roof, there a small pool & cabana area AND a hotel pet ... a shark called Sebastian (I kid you not). The views are incredible -- you can see Century City and as far as the Hollywood sign. Did you know that LA is the only city with a mountain range running right through it?!

I finished the day by taking Daisy The Dog for a walk ... the hotel is incredibly pet-friendly.

I am having sleep problems - tomorrow I am off to Santa Monica ... should be fun!

Song of The Day: Halo - Texas

Weather - Lovely
