0700 - breakfast with the boys
0745 - meet up with Goi (nickname) - from the PR department. She is looking after us all day ... We love her as she has 10 cats - Yellow, Beaver, Jelly, Beloved, B1, B2, Mix, White, Black & Chuang Chuang! Next year she is going for 20!
0750 - start filming - there are 6 restaurants in the building (& a luxury boat dining experience on the river). It became a Banyan Tree in 2002. After a full refurbishment - it now has 327 rooms & suites set over 61 floors. The top floor - well I will come to that later ...
0900 - film my suite (Grand Banyan Suite) on the 18th floor. Have two bedrooms - 147 m2 area. Kitchenette ... HUGE bedroom ... ENORMOUS bathroom ... a wee view of the City and Chao Phraya River. Happy Varun!
1100 - head up to the 59th floor to Pier 59 where the very cool Chef Edy taught me how to prepare one of my favourite dishes - tuna tartare... yum!
1230 - lunch at Bai Yun - dim sum. So So So So SOOOOOO good ...
1400 - film Spa ... the best urban spa I have visited in a very, very long time.
1630 - 61st Floor - the Moon Bar and Vertigo (restaurant) - the highest open air restaurant and bar in the world! Amazing views ... Interview Banyan Tree's Bernold Schroeder - a legendary figure in luxury hotel circles. There is much competition here among the luxury hotels ... I am pleased the Banyan Tree is doing well ... the staff are just so kind & friendly ... naturally Thai I suppose.
