claire bakes a ... boneA very actioned packed day.
Leave Pimlico at 0500 and drive up to The Grove to meet with the crew. It's Gemima's 8th birthday and she is not happy to be dragged out of bed at that time of day ... but she will do anything for the cameras.
Arrive in time for a wee bit of breakfast and meeting with lovely Tazie PR Kate Matheson who gently guides us around the property for a few hours while we film. My bit is actually on the amazing golf course -- which once again I failed to master in any shape or form. I don't know why I don't give up the game, but I can't ... it's just so addictive.
The Grove (Junction 19 - M25 motorway - actually parking lot - in Hertfordshire) is the MOST ideal family luxury "resort/hotel" in England ... dogs aren't allowed which is a HUGE shame ... but children are (!) ... and you a truly spoilt ... a kids club, family swimming areas (plus areas for adults only), golf course, easy-dining restaurants ... you get my drift.
Leave The Grove at 2 pm and drive up to the Four Seasons, Hampshire ... (officially Junction 5 of M3 motorway)
Drive the scenic route through little villages & towns. Gemima just looks through the car window smelling the air. A very happy Pup!
Arrive and we are met by the truly lovely & delightful Claire Blackshaw - the hotel PR extraordinaire ... one of the world's few, true, "nice" people ... She escorted me & the Moo to the William Godson Suite which overlooks the grounds of the hotel.
We then spend the rest of the day planning for the filming we are doing here. Tim & Alex are happy .... we all have dinner together and devour Gemima's birthday cake(s) ... she did a wee lick of some though!
